MoodBlast 2.0 — Circle Six Blog
Moodblast seems to be the latest solid effort to unify social-networking and status updates, and it does a pretty good job of it.
f you’re like me, many of your social networking sites support Status Updates, some of my favorites include Facebook, Twitter, iChat, Adium, and lifecasting sites. The goal of Moodblast is to blast your status out to those services, so you aren’t trying to keep all them updated, you simply type it into the little widget that sits in the background and MoodBlast does the rest.
This is especially useful if you’re trying to make a concerted effort to make sure everyone in your online social-life knows what you’re doing all the time, so no matter where you are or what social networks you belong to, your status on them are always in sync.
My first go’round with MoodBlast was less than stelar, after I installed and sent my first Test status update to Facebook, Adium, and Twitter, it had an error and posted HTML gibberish to all of those sites. I posted a comment on the MoodBlast blog asking about it, and the respondant told me to make sure I have the latest version, I’m convinced that I did, but after a simple re-install of the application it appears to be working well.
I’ll continue to follow this emerging API wonder, but at first glance it seems to be an interesting and useful addition to my online social-networking efforts.
