We’re going on two weeks now since KOMU changed the format of it’s 5 o’clock newscast. We’ve gone from a package and national story heavy newscast to a hyper-live News You Can Use Locally cast. Overall I really like the new format and for those of us who are in a constant flux of time-shifting to get things done, it’s a relief.
The live-shots look great (most of the time), and the local hooks really keep your attention. If only I could convince them that they need an active online community of bloggers and forum-hounds ala fanboys. sigh… someday they will figure this whole interactivity and community journalism thing out.
