Mozilla’s big plans for mobile Firefox may be too little, too late

Well I’m not going to hold my breath, and in fact I’m not even going to remain hopeful about this, but I sure wish that Firefox could release something light enough to run on cells.

The facts are, however, that cells in the United States are so locked down and restricted that Mozilla would have to seriously work on some huge deals with carriers and manufacturers to make it happen.

The cell landscape is such that unless you’re a powerhouse you have little chance to get any content pushed to potential users.

I’ll have a more detailed write-up very soon on the state of mobile content right here on my blog. I’ve been talking to mobile content creators and users and they don’t sound happy!
