If there was a startup that I was excited about, this is the one. Darrell and company at UserTesting.com have this amazing site and technology that makes usability testing easy. It used to be that if you wanted usability testing you’d have to hire a firm and it often cost $250 or more per person.
At UserTesting.com it’s only $19 and I’m having a hard time coming up with a better way to spend almost 20 bucks. Frankly, there is no where else out there that you can get a video of someone performing a task on your website and a written report of their thoughts, all within 48 hours.
It’s hard to imagine this being any easier. Literally you put in a URL, and type up a list of instructions (tasks) and submit the job. A couple days later you get an email with a link to see, and download the video and the written report.
I’ve submitted 9 or 10 jobs already and each one is coming back and providing excellent feedback, and honestly, what company (or individual) can’t afford $19 to get great feedback on their web site or application? It’s just such a good price and an excellent service.
There were a couple problems at first (I typed in a wrong credit card digit on the signup form) but was promptly emailed by Darrell and got it all fixed, shortly after the jobs were getting accepted and results started pouring in.
In addition to the great feedback and great price from this company, it’s also very comforting that they have a no questions asked money-back guarantee on any jobs that weren’t completed to your standards.
I guess in summation, I just really have to endorse and promote these guys, it’s a great service and I plan on using them for many more projects in the short and long-term. Give them a shot and tell them I sent you!
