Trendio - The News Stockmarket
September 9, 2007 by Jonathan
Trendio.com - The first stock exchange on headline newsTrendio could very easily become a very important tool for the traditional journalist, and especially the backpack journalists out there. The site tracks the blogs, news sites, and more to aggregate and calculate the trends and buzz words that people are using across the net.If you sign in to the site you can save searches and view plenty of graphs showing how popular terms and news events are and have been on the web.I’m thinking that there might be a way that a news organization could market and follow a site like this, only on the micro-level and be a community based trend tracker.Perhaps in an effort of community journalism and interaction with the newsroom, consumers could briefly visit your news web site, and vote for their top ‘buzz words’ of the day, week, or month. This would provide the people behind the scenes at your news organization a glimpse at what the news consumers in your area feel are important and buzzworthy stories.I’ll continue investigating more ways to interact with your user-base in future blogposts, and until then check out Trendio and see how it can help you!
