- Trying to figure out what the heck my Contributr developers have been doing for the last several weeks, not being micromanaged, nor working. #
- Wow that last Tweet was a Twoosh! (The sentence was 140 characters by complete accident) #
- @rosshill Nice find! reTweeting: Restaurant that uses Tumbler as their web site: http://blackbirdbuvette.com/ #

- It’s not as exciting as you might think but here’s a tag-cloud generated from my Tweets http://tinyurl.com/6o63pw #
- @coreygreenberg You’re using AMP? I don’t run into people who have tried, much less use Adobe Media Player. #
- @CreativeSage Are you campaigning against RickRolling?
# - @efortiz Yeah, it’s a decent enough app, I talked to some of the original devs from AMP last year and it’s "heart" isn’t in the right place. #
- @CreativeSage oic, I haven’t watched the episode yet, it’s on the list though. #
- Retweeting: ijustine: Wanting to hit all the btchr’s complaining about flickr video: http://tinyurl.com/6xbelc #

- @thewebcoach, have direct mail campaigns for social networking sites been effective for you? #
- @conniereece I’m still making up my mind on Everyone being w/ other tabs but I think it’s more Usable now, I see myself clicking on it more. #
- Contributr.net is back online, sans our beautiful new design, the design is done, the coding for it is not #
- Anyone out there who follows me or not from Vermont? @ or DM me please! #

Suggested schwag: triple-tap AC adapters

Suggested schwag: triple-tap AC adapters
This came from Matt Cutts (the Google search team blogger), he suggests conferences replace all the tshirts, and other schwag with AC power strips, because we all know that there are never enough power outlets at technology conferences.
When I was at Adobe MAX this year I took a page from iJustine’s book and packed my own surge-protector, I, like iJustine, used it several times in session rooms and hallways where outlets were scarce and laptops were numerous.
Broadcom 3G ‘phone on a chip’ - Yay for Mobile!

Broadcom introduces 3G on chip | Tech news blog - CNET News.com
Stories like this really get me excited, it’s amazing what technology can do for us and how we can use it in convergence and new-media operations. This phone-on-a-chip may just be the best thing since WiMAX died… imagine having one of these built into your new ultra-portable Apple laptop for Internet, anywhere. Now, I do love my AT&T Laptop Connect card, but I can’t afford it anymore, so it’s going back to the store… would I keep my contract if it was built into my laptop? Yeah I think I would, it’d be too easy to use, no more trying to figure out what wifi network I should be on, and why my cable connection isn’t working at home, I would be all Internet, all the time.
Of course the linked article mainly looks at this innovation as simply a way to shrink cellphones, but I don’t think people want even smaller phones, the rest of the phone experience has not caught on yet, and my iPhone is not the smallest phone I’ve had, but it does have the best user experience I’ve ever encountered in a cellphone.
Airline Passenger Harassed for Using iPhone in ‘airplane’ Mode

ATA Airlines detains passenger for using iPhone in ‘airplane mode’ | One More Thing - CNET News.com
The alleged curse of the iPhone isn’t going anywhere people, and I’m not sure why I haven’t seen reports of other so called smartphones being banned on airplanes despite having their radios turned off. Now, we all know by now that there is no technical reason that cell-phones should be banned from use during flight, the science just plain says that the wireless signals do not interfere. So putting that aside, the FAA still has a ban on cell-use during flights, however as phones like the iPhone become even more popular, it’s going to be extremely important that people be able to use them with the radio turned off.
These multifunctional devices provide a sort of security blanket to its users (if I’m uncomfortable, I’ll often take out my iPhone and refresh the weather widget, but you didn’t hear it from me!). I, like this gentleman was asked to turn my iPhone completely off during my recent trip to Chicago for Adobe MAX 2007.
I hate to see short-sided legislation and the FAA and the FCC getting their paws into things where they don’t belong, but I must admit, I’m tempted to approve of them legislating the use of portable electronics during flight if their radio transmitters and receivers are turned off in some sort of ‘airplane’ mode.
Despite my inability to hide my own usage of my iPhone during flight (I was just trying to write some emails, to be be sent after landing), I was watching iJustine’s lifecast a few weeks ago and not only was she texting while her flight was taking off using her iPhone, but she continued to broadcast her video stream to the world from inside her purse, her camera sitting on the seatback tray pointed toward her texting on her iPhone. All this data coming and going from iJustine, and none of the multiple security screenings (yes, we her lifecast users got x-rayed), nor the flight attendants caught on and told her to stop being The Internet while flying.
The Impact of the “In Crowd” » The Buzz Bin

The Impact of the “In Crowd” » The Buzz Bin
The Buzz bin has some very intellectual and insightful thoughts on the impact of the social-media and the ‘in-crowd’ in our social lives. The basic premise of the post is that those of us evanglizing and taking advantage of the social-media tools out there are ground-breaking and pioneers in this new online gold-rush.
I’ve been hearing more and more lately about the next web bubble, and I tend to believe it too, I think we’re getting very close to breaking through into commonness and the masses. The number of genius creative types who are working nonstop on making engaging and useful User Experiences on the web is amazing. I was very fortunate to be able to meet many of those people at Adobe MAX last week and I continue to be amazed each day when I sit down at the computer for my ‘research’ time in finding new and exciting uses of and for the Internet.
The social-media bubble is about to explode, and in a good way. While I hope it’s not Facebook that captures the market, I do hope that it happens, and I’m confident that it will. There are too many very strong forces and movements in online development and rich internet applications not to have it become accessible to everyone.
Indeed, the Contributr project that I’m working on right now is aiming at a very high goal, to further minimize the barriers to entry that the public has in creating and sharing their own ‘news‘. More on this later, but until then, enjoy your day!
I’m REALLY here!

Well, I haven’t had my daily blog posts, but it’s not for a lack of devotion to my loyal readers! Adobe MAX 2007 was absolutely amazing, absolutely a great thing for me. I love to be surrounded by amazingly creative and smart people, and there was an endless supply of those at AIR this year.
I met a TON of amazing people doing a ton of AMAZING things. My plan is that once I’m slightly more caught up on my daily work and activities that I’ll start writing up some of the great things and people that I met and learned to do at MAX.
This was my first trip to MAX and I have to be honest, I think I probably took more from it than my AIR competition mates.
So all that to say, I’m still around, and still trying to create a lot of wonderful things… but there’s been a slight delay in blogging and sharing. Sharing knowledge and teaching are one of my favorite things, and I’ll be back to my daily thought posting very soon!
